The CEO of FC Lahti Menace Teijo Sepponen had a few words:
We are pleased to announce our brand new Overwatch lineup for the year 2017, we were one of the first organisations to acquire an Overwatch team in Finland 2017 and have been looking from a distance afterwards. This new lineup is our change to be on the top of the scene again and fight against other big brands in Finland.
The FC Lahti Menace Overwatch team coach Antti ‘Anatec’ Eskel had this to say:
I am super excited to see how far the team can push themselves in the scene. Since it’s a really young and talented team full of potential and have the will to be the best, pretty much the only thing the players are lacking is experience. We can’t really expect huge results instantly, however we are trying to the best of our abilities. On top of joining the team to be their coach me and the players joined FC Lahti Menace. It really is amazing to be representing the oldest Finnish eSports organisation and to be part of their comeback. Our goal for the end of 2017 is to be fighting in Finland’s top 3.
The team got off to a disappointing start in the ROG GameXpo Tournament against ENCE Esports losing 0-2, however there is no shame there considering the ENCE lineup are experienced individually and have been together for a long period of time. We are sure they are motivated and will want to prove their worth against future opponents and make Lahti proud!
